Type a drain off cocks come with a spindle gland which prevents water passing past the spindle when in use. They provide a drain off point on a heating system.
MT cocks and draw off valves are other names for these types of valves. Kings Plumbing Supplies also sell the cheaper type b drain off cocks, however the type b version do not offer the added security of the spindle gland.
DZR (Dezincification Resistant) brass offers resistance to dezincification, a process where the brass corrodes, zinc is lost, and the copper is left behind. Mild dezincification can lead to cosmetic changes, however, severe dezincification can lead the the brass becoming weak and porous.
