The collected air is vented, allowing the water level to rise and the air valve to close again. This process will keep repeating as long as air enters the vent housing during normal operation. In order to enable even fast installation of the Flexvent air vents the versions with a valve sleeve (shut-off valve) in the dimensions ⅜\", ½\" and ¾\" are be equipped with an with self-sealing incision gasket. In practice this means that the installer doesn’t need to use sealing tape for installing these version into an heating system anymore.
